The Clinical Supervisor Toolkit:

Clinical Supervisor Training

Live Zoom Class

  • Are you looking for convenient, affordable Clinical Supervisor training that meets Virginia’s requirements to provide LPC supervision to Residents in Counseling?
  • Can’t take 3 days off from your practice to attend a professional workshop?
  • Do you want information AND effective, PRACTICAL and easy-to-use materials so you can immediately begin providing clinical supervision to Residents?

You’ll get 20 total CE hours as required by Virginia’s Board of Counseling to begin supervising LPC/LMFT Residents!

Why I’m Offering this Course
After being a therapist for a couple of decades, I learned how to be a supervisor. And then became an even better therapist.

Since 1998, I’ve provided LPC supervision to a wide variety of mental health counselors and I’m still learning. Being a supervisor has made me more conscious of what I’m doing as a counselor. It’s stretched and challenged me and made me open to new ways of thinking and doing the work.

I’d like to share with you not only what the research literature has to say about effective supervision, but also practical tips, strategies and tools I’ve learned along the way.

That’s why I created this completely practical, interactive and informative, 20-hour continuing education course!

Over the years, I’ve created forms and procedures that have streamlined supervision for me and will provide helpful documents and structures as YOU begin the clinical supervision process.

The course provides LPCs and LMFTs the 20-hour CE training required by Virginia’s Board of Counseling to supervise LPC Residents.

The commitment includes 3 Saturday sessions – live via Zoom – as well as a between class assignment and a 1-hour, small group consultation to help you get a jump start on registering yourself as an LPC Supervisor.

Here are the details:
In this 20-hour CE Clinical Supervisor Training course you will become familiar with the purpose and process of clinical supervision. You will review the currently accepted models for conducting supervision, the requirements posed by various licensing bodies, the skills and qualities of supervisor and supervisee, which promote effective supervision, and the ethics associated with supervisory relationships.

Whether your interest is simply the expansion of knowledge of all things clinical or whether you are considering becoming a supervisor, this course will expand your understanding of supervision and its impacts.

Additionally, The Clinical Supervisor Toolkit training covers the legal, ethical and clinical aspects of supervision, including requirements of supervision, this course also presents supervision as a dynamic process, engaging both supervisor and supervisee in interpersonal processes over a period of time and through certain developmental phases. You will learn to pay attention to boundaries, discover the impact of multiple loyalties, as well as the multiple relationships that are inherent in the supervision relationship.
